Laser X’s design philosophy remains very much intact, with sleek white, angular forms. Each blaster looks like it’s pulled out of a video game. The micro blasters will require 3 AAA batteries each to quickly get started. Once you have those, switch the blasters on and brace for a loud startup noise, then set each blaster to a different team. You can, of course, set your own custom color using the third option in conjunction with the hue dial. These little guys are light and comfy to carry around, but might be small for large, adult hands. Good thing these are for kids! Their hit detection distance is 200 feet, which is not too shabby. They’re calibrated to register a hit on any part of your opponent’s body, but the closer to the sensor you aim, the more likely you’ll register a hit. If you’re wondering who hit you, take notice of the light up area below your sensor to see the team color of the one who got you. You get ten blasts before you need to reload (holding down the tigger until the sound indicator goes off). Something to note, the range will decrease a bit in strong sunlight. And also, remember, if you don’t get hit for an entire minute, you get one life point back! If you enjoy this small taste of the Ultra line, look out for the Double Blasters and Lang Range Double Blasters which each boast longer range and different play features like chest mounted hit sensors and pull handle reload, respectively. Price Check $19.99 Should I get it? Pros They have a 200 foot max range. They’re lightweight. Their size makes them the most inconspicuous during battle. You can select any team color you want. These enable you to make any space into your own laser tag arena. Cons Batteries aren’t included. They might be a bit small for folks with bigger hands.
