Get out and stay out with the all-new Mountain Raid 233 WP sleeping bag. The WP stands for waterproof; we’ve paired our fantastically warm and lightweight Mountain Raid Sleeping bag with our superlight PointZero H2O fabric, usually found in our Wisp waterproof shells to create an all-in-one sleep system for lightweight adventures where each piece of kit needs to earn its place in your pack. The filling is made from 90% post consumer recycled material and we have now switched to a PFC-Free DWR in the shell fabric, removing the nasty ‘forever chemicals’ from the manufacturing process, making this one of our most low impact sleep systems to date. Based on the Mountain Raid 233, using PrimaLoft® Cross-Core Gold insulation, which performs even when wet, if you are inundated. A half-length zip reduces cold spots and overall weight whilst a close-fitting, adjustable mummy style hood helps trap the maximum of heat. A tapered fit reduces dead air and the shaped footbox makes for a more comfortable sleep position. Like all our sleeping bags, we take this high quality insulation and map different weights per panel to ensure the best usage of the fill. The base sheet is filled with PrimaLoft® Cross-Core Gold 100g/m2, whilst the top layer, above the sleeper, is 133gm/2 (giving us the 233g/m2 total in the name). Mapping the insulation in this way allows us to achieve such a low pack weight, there is no point placing excess wadding (and therefore weight) beneath the sleeper, as the weight of their body will compress it and reduce its ability to trap air and insulate. Instead, we focus the warmth on the top sheet and leave it up to you to decide what mat to use to insulate you from the ground. Temperature Ratings: We measure to ISO 23537 where temperatures are provided for a sleeper wearing a single layer of underwear (i.e. thermal leggings and long sleeve top) plus a beanie, on an insulating mat Comfort: The temperature that a “cold” sleeper can comfortably sleep in a relaxed position Limit: The temperature that a “warm” sleeper can comfortably sleep in a relaxed position Extreme: The temperature that a sleeper can survive for 6 hours without risk of hypothermia The addition of a membraned shell will further increase the insulating performance of the sleeping bag.
